Every year, Variety improves the lives of thousands of children in need through targeted, flexible support. But child poverty rates are declining far too slowly. The grim reality is that tonight hundreds of kids won’t get much sleep; without proper, warm bedding or even a bed of their own.

What about tomorrow when the school bell rings? Imagine a child’s dread if there isn’t enough money for a uniform or consider the kid who is being left behind because they have no device to study on, constantly losing out to classmates and no hope of keeping up. No pupil wants to stand out for all the wrong reasons.

These basics are only the start; there are young people with every kind of need – specialist learning support, the chance to join in sports and extra-curricular opportunities, mobility and medical issues sensory challenges to overcome, the list is near endless.

Every gift helps but if you want to make a gift that could change the landscape of child poverty in New Zealand, then it is time to talk to us.

Variety Guardians

A regular donation from our Guardians means we can say ‘yes’ to more families and help more children thrive.

The Variety Guardians programme has been developed to address an urgent need – to support the unacceptable numbers of children going without basics like shoes, warm bedding or desperately-needed medical equipment right here in New Zealand, the place we’re proud to call home.

Every child has a right to a happy, healthy childhood filled with opportunities to explore, grow and learn. The support we provide is tailored to the unique needs of every child.

We warmly invite you to become a Variety Guardian with a donation of $250 a month or more. Please join us and give Kiwi kids in need the childhood they deserve.

Don’t forget that your donation will be eligible for a 33.3% tax rebate. At the end of each tax year, Variety will send you an annual tax receipt and an IRD Tax Credit claim form to complete.
